Royal Opera House Muscat

The Royal Opera House Muscat (ROHM) is Oman's premier cultural complex and one of the most distinguished event landmarks in the region. An independent institution set in the Shatti Al Qurum district of Muscat, it combines a contemporary Omani architectural identity with richly detailed interiors featuring Italian marble, Burmese teak, carved woodwork and crystal chandeliers. Formal landscaped gardens, a luxury retail galleria and world-class performance spaces together create a setting of exceptional prestige, suited to high-profile cultural programmes, government events, corporate hospitality and luxury weddings.

For food and beverage, ROHM offers in-house catering drawing on a diverse range of cuisine styles including Japanese, Turkish, British, fusion, international and local Omani offerings, ensuring flexible hospitality options across event formats.

The venue encompasses several distinct spaces. The Royal Opera House Auditorium is the centrepiece, a technically advanced multiform theatre accommodating up to 1,100 guests in theatre or boardroom-style configurations, capable of hosting full-scale operas, ballet, symphonic concerts and large-scale conferences. The West Maidan is a versatile special venue seating up to 384 in theatre or boardroom format and up to 500 for cocktail receptions. The South Maidan accommodates up to 300 guests for cocktail events. The Royal Opera House Gardens span 830 square metres and provide an elegant outdoor reception zone for up to 150 guests. The Terrace offers an intimate setting for cocktail receptions of up to 80 guests, while Al Maidan Hall is a banquet space suited to cocktail events of up to 110 guests.

Technically, ROHM is equipped to the highest professional standards. The auditorium features advanced stage automation including orchestra shell and pit lifts enabling rapid reconfiguration between performance and conference modes. Audio capabilities include high-quality sound systems, wireless, handheld and lapel microphones, with on-site AV technicians available. Visual presentation is supported by projectors and screens alongside seatback multimedia systems. Lighting infrastructure encompasses stage spotlights, floodlights, gobo projectors, ambient uplighting, colour-changing LEDs and special effects enhancements, all managed by dedicated lighting technicians. Staging elements include podiums, lecterns and backdrops, while rigging points with stated weight capacity allow for elaborate production builds. Pipe-and-drape systems and temporary art gallery configurations further extend the creative possibilities for event design.

The complex supports a broad range of event types including corporate events, galas, government functions, weddings, networking events and cultural performances. On-site facilities include meeting spaces, a terrace, garden areas, taxi access, ATM and cash machine services, and full wheelchair accessibility, ensuring a seamless and inclusive experience for all attendees and organisers.
