Château d'Origny

Château d'Origny is a Michelin-starred restaurant presenting contemporary French cooking with classical inspiration, modern technique and attentive presentation. The house offers multiple priced set menus and special tasting events (for example a lobster menu); most include service and taxes. The dining room occupies a 16th-century château room near Roanne where terracotta tiles and stone fireplaces meet contemporary touches and windows overlooking nature. Glass-partitioned kitchen lets guests watch team at work; private salon seats six to eight. Menus focus on seasonal, local, sourced ingredients. Team emphasizes regional provenance: French meats, Maison Mons cheeses, and fish and shellfish from the North‑East Atlantic or Africa; pastry by Frédéric Bailly and wines by sommelier Jean‑Noël Rahmani. Chef Julien Laval trained with Alexandre Ongaro in Courchevel, worked with Serge Vieira (contributing to a second star in 2012) and joined Château d'Origny in 2022. Specialities include textural ceps; steamed king crab, confit beetroot, horseradish sauce; bulots, varied endive textures and herb sauces; filet of brill with Puy lentils and bergamot sauce; Charolais beef (Maison Gonin) with squash and wild asparagus pickles; Poularde de Bresse two ways.
