Le Petit Basson

Le Petit Basson is a small ‘bistrot de jardin’ in Troyes led by chef Yann Caputo and selected by the Michelin Guide (Selected) for its modern cuisine. The restaurant frames a distinctive identity around homegrown produce and regional fish. The dining room presents a charming, woody, nature-inspired décor with braids of garlic, wheat and dried flowers on the walls, creating a warm, convivial spot where people enjoy gathering. The kitchen offers modern, locavore cooking that emphasizes vegetables from the chef’s garden and products from small local producers, with a strong focus on Breton fish; lunch provides a value set menu while evenings feature a refined à la carte selection. Yann Caputo grows vegetables in his own garden and sources many items from small local producers, and he highlights fish mainly from Brittany in homage to his native region. Signature specialties include snacked langoustines with peanut and satay; a green apple tartare with mint and tarragon; turbot with garden vegetables, brown-butter sabayon, trout roe and finger lime; and vegetable-forward plates from the chef’s potager.
