Li Lioni

Li Lioni is located near Porto Torres in northwestern Sardinia, set within the lush Mediterranean vegetation of the Li Lioni estate. Established in 1975 by Giovanni and Baingia Pintus to safeguard Sardinian culinary traditions, it now operates under their children, who uphold the family’s dedication. Collaborating early on with Sardinian cuisine expert Giovanni Serra, the restaurant uses weekly rotating fresh ingredients, homemade preserves, locally sourced salumi, and cellar-aged cheeses. The dining room reflects a warm, familial atmosphere amidst a tranquil, verdant landscape, emphasizing respect for nature and the estate’s heritage. The kitchen specializes in traditional Sardinian dishes, preparing handmade pastas like culingiones ogliastrini and maccarrones de busa with saccaya meat, alongside meats such as porcetto, capretto, and agnello cooked over olive wood fires. Desserts include seadas and pardulas made in-house. The wine list features varieties from native grapes like Cagnulari and Cannonau by local producers. Li Lioni uniquely integrates bread into creative traditional plates such as Pane Frattau and offers preserved vegetables in oil, highlighting a rustic yet refined approach to Sardinian cuisine.
