Maison Vidal - Le Bistrot de Justin

Maison Vidal’s Le Bistrot de Justin is the bistronomic arm of a two-restaurant house in Saint-Julien-Chapteuil and pairs everyday generosity with the fine-dining offer under the same roof. The bistrot bears the name of the chef’s grandfather, Justin, an agriculturalist who founded the address with his wife Odette some 70 years ago, and that name reflects the family values at the heart of the cooking. The house offers privatisation for private and professional events. The establishment has been recognised with a Bib Gourmand distinction. The dining room is warm, convivial and comfortable after a full redecoration in 2023. The refurbishment retained a traditional counter that evokes the bar of yesteryear and emphasises convivial bistro seating. The kitchen follows a producer-driven philosophy and is centred on seasonal, locally sourced produce. It works with a network of local market gardeners, breeders and farmers to select the best seasonal ingredients. Aurélien Vidal leads the kitchen. Specialties include locavore seasonal dishes and bistronomic reinterpretations of French classics. A weekly-changing set menu frames generous, simple bistro plates. The house provides banquet and traiteur catering and prepares takeaway dishes.
