Murder Night

Founded and operated from Dijon (Côte-d'Or), Murder Night is a fully mobile entertainment service that travels across Burgundy to offer murder mystery evenings and bespoke professional investigations, wherever your group may be — whether in a private residence, a rented property or a seminar and events space. The service relieves the host of any logistical burden: Murder Night arrives on-site fully equipped and ready to host the evening. The central concept lies at the intersection of improvised role-playing and detective fiction. For one evening, each participant takes on the role of a character with their own backstory, personal objectives, and well-guarded secrets. The aim is to untangle the web of intrigue woven into an original, specially written scenario and to unmask the murderer who is hiding in plain sight among the group. Two distinct formats cater to different group sizes and atmospheres. The Murder Party is an intimate format designed for 6 to 10 participants aged 18 and over. Each player receives their character’s role sheet in advance via email, allowing them to prepare before the evening begins. Over the course of approximately 3 hours — including a structured briefing and a debriefing session — players investigate, negotiate, form alliances, and use their reasoning to find the truth, knowing that the culprit is one of their fellow players. Costumes and accessories are encouraged but entirely optional, maintaining a low barrier to entry. For larger corporate groups, the Investigation Evening operates like a life-sized Cluedo. Tailored for 8 to 30 participants or more, this format divides participants into competing teams that battle to gather clues, reconstruct the crime scene, and be the first to name the fictional culprit. Sessions last between 2 and 3 hours, with duration adjustable to fit into the day's schedule. The team structure makes communication and collective reasoning essential, providing a natural and engaging vehicle for team cohesion. Murder Night has built a vast catalogue of original scenarios covering a wide range of themes and difficulty levels: magic and witchcraft, bank heists, ancient Egyptian curses, Cold War espionage, haunted hotels, psychiatric hospitals, medieval fantasy intrigue, circus troupes, and, more recently, artificial intelligence and androids — with new scenarios regularly added to the catalogue. For clients with specific needs, a fully bespoke scenario can be created from scratch.
