Stella is a restaurant, wine bar, and inn situated just outside Perugia’s historic center in Casaglia, Italy. Established in the early 1980s, it focuses on traditional Umbrian cuisine rooted in a philosophy that honors local people, environment, and culinary customs. The kitchen emphasizes slow food principles, preparing territory-linked, seasonal, and artisanal ingredients sourced via short supply chains with local producers. Dishes are crafted using limited fats and techniques that enhance natural flavors while preserving taste pleasure. The family-run venue features seven individually styled inn rooms above the dining area, designed with reclaimed materials that highlight sustainability and artisanal care. Interiors combine vintage and recycled furnishings to create an elegant yet warm ambiance, with intimate seating areas and a cozy common lounge free of televisions to encourage relaxed socializing. Stella’s menu highlights regional specialties such as linguine with carp roe from Lake Trasimeno, smoked tench linguine, roasted eel with laurel, porchetta-style rabbit, roast lamb with rosemary, and Fiorentina grilled veal steak.
