The restaurant pays homage to the traditions and symbols of Bilbao, referencing local landmarks such as the Mallona and Artxanda stairs, as well as cultural icons like the Virgin of Begoña and the Athletic Club. Its name, inspired by the vocabulary of Bilbao, reflects a playful and eccentric spirit that defines the personality of the place. The dining experience is divided between a lively bar area with high tables, ideal for snacks, pintxos, and sharing plates, and a spacious main dining room designed for a more complete meal. The menu at Txirene features both cold and hot pintxos as well as sharing dishes made with high-quality, seasonal local products, proudly showcasing Basque flavours. For more private gatherings, the restaurant offers three intimate rooms, including one dedicated to the celebrated football figure “Chopo” Iribar.
