Fawn Wine & Amaro Bar is a cozy, intimate wine and amaro bar in downtown Decatur, created by Terry and Jenn Koval as a coastal, Old‑World–inspired complement to their sister restaurant The Deer & The Dove. The program centers on volcanic winemakers, dry‑aged seafood and a curated selection of Amari, pairing explorative wines with technically daring, seafood‑centric plates; beverage director Matt Watkins oversees rare spirits and an amaro‑forward cocktail menu. A chef’s tasting menu is available by reservation only and cannot be modified for some dietary restrictions; guests are asked to email with questions. The intimate, Old‑World–inspired dining room is dark and zanily decorated, designed for long conversations and slow sips, with both bar and dining seating that foster a relaxed neighborhood vibe. Cuisine offers seafood‑centric plates rooted in volcanic terroir and old‑world coastal techniques, drawing on France, Italy and the southeastern U.S. coastlines. Terry Koval, James Beard Award winner (Best Chef, Southeast, 2023), sources ingredients from small family‑run fisheries and producers such as Anchored Shrimp Co., Bramlett Trout Farms and Sapelo Island Sea Farms, emphasizing ties with local farmers and fishermen.
