La Palapa Restaurant

La Palapa Restaurant, established in 1959, is a beachfront venue located on Los Muertos Beach in Puerto Vallarta, known for its tropical Mexican cuisine. Founded by Rodelinda and Guy Dickey, it was the first restaurant on the beach, originally featuring a palm thatch roof designed by Guillermo Wulff using authentic regional materials. The restaurant is family-owned and was redesigned in 1987 by architect Salvador Pérez, maintaining its legacy of tropical elegance. Guests can enjoy seating in the sand under the stars or in the main dining room under the distinctive palapa, enhanced by sunset views, tiki torches, and live music. The menu features freshly caught seafood from the bay prepared with local ingredients and regional recipes, complemented by exotic cocktails served in handmade glassware. La Palapa caters to both intimate events and large groups, offering fixed-price and custom menus for breakfast, lunch, or dinner. The restaurant also presents award-winning service and an extensive wine programme, housed in a custom wine cellar with over 150 labels from seven countries.
