The Outsider Coast

Nieuwpoort : Located on the Belgian coast, approximately 60 km west of Bruges and 65 km from Ghent. From the E40 motorway, take exit 4 (Nieuwpoort) and follow the signs to the marina and beach. The town is served by the coastal tram De Lijn (Kusttram), which runs the entire length of the Belgian coast from De Panne to Knokke; get off at the Nieuwpoort-Bad stop.

Westende : Situated between Nieuwpoort and Middelkerke on the coastal strip. Accessible from the E40 via exit 4 (Nieuwpoort) or exit 5 (Middelkerke). The coastal tram De Lijn stops at Westende-Bad.

Oostende : Oostende is accessible by direct trains from Brussels (approx. 1h15), Ghent (approx. 50 min), and Bruges (approx. 15 min). Oostende-Centrum station is within walking distance or a short taxi ride from the seaside attractions. By car, take the E40 until it ends in the west at Oostende. Oostende airport is located about 4 km from the city centre.

Public transport : The coastal tram De Lijn (Kusttram, line 0) connects these three locations along the coast and provides a convenient option for groups travelling without a coach.
