Auberge des Aryelets

Auberge des Aryelets is a small restaurant established in May 2018 in Aulon, in the Vallée d'Aure. It is run by Frédérique, native of La Réunion, and Julien Bergua, originally from the Vallée d'Aure, who after many travels settled here in 2018 to open the auberge. The kitchen works directly with local producers and lists suppliers for Porc Noir de Bigorre, agneaux des Pyrénées, trout from Lac d'Oô, local cheeses and regional poultry, as well as local beekeepers, bakers and chocolatiers. The house’s tightly local sourcing and the hosts’ desire to reflect the colours and flavours of the Vallée d'Aure earned a Bib Gourmand distinction for quality and good value. The auberge offers a convivial, authentic atmosphere inspired by the Vallée d'Aure, aimed at a warm, friendly and unpretentious culinary pause. The setting emphasizes local character and seasonal warmth. The cuisine is instinctive and season-focused, blending modern and traditional French approaches and evolving with the four seasons to highlight the best products of the local terroir. The menu changes several times a week and demonstrates modern techniques alongside respect for traditional flavours. Specialties include foie gras mi-cuit (local farm), Truite des Pyrénées (regional trout), Porc Noir de Bigorre / cochon de lait, Saint-Jacques carpaccio and a selection of local cheeses.
