Camp Wandawega

Camp Wandawega is a historic venue located in Elkhorn, Wisconsin, recognized on The National Register of Historic Places. Established in 1930, it preserves the charm of simpler times with a no-frills, back-to-basics approach that forgoes modern conveniences. The site features vintage cabins, cottages, a dorm-style hotel/bunkhouse, and camping options for overnight stays, accommodating up to 50 guests.

Set on 25 private acres at the edge of the woods along the shores of a hidden lake, the venue offers a unique blend of natural beauty and historic architecture. The simple cottage vernacular buildings, well-preserved and renovated, reflect design elements from the 1920s through the 1950s. The setting includes rolling hills, forest, lake views, and landscaped grounds, creating a peaceful and nostalgic atmosphere.

Camp Wandawega’s outdoor spaces include a private beach, hiking trails, boating, fishing, swimming, archery, shuffleboard, horseshoes, and a notable treehouse. Vintage boats, canoes, sporting equipment, picnic tables, outdoor grills, smokers, and campfire pits are available for use. The venue’s history as a Prohibition-era hotspot adds to its distinctive character, with opportunities to explore its past through private tours when available.
