Clara — Restaurant im Kaisersaal holds a Michelin star and operates as a fine-dining venue where the kitchen produces contrast-rich, elaborately staged modern dishes defined by finesse, attention to detail and playful compositional ideas. The house emphasises craftsmanship and continual experimentation, with lovingly detailed presentations and a team led by hosts Gregor Bellan and Jupp Hielscher. It occupies the atmospheric Kaisersaal in Erfurt’s picturesque old town and offers an elegant, intimate setting geared toward a relaxed, pleasurable evening and sensory dining experiences. The kitchen serves contemporary, modern cuisine through meticulously arranged, contrast-driven compositions. The menu follows a five-to-eight-course tasting sequence that combines high-quality regional ingredients with select products from around the world. Christopher Weigel has led the kitchen as Head Chef since October 2021. Specialties include an extensive wine programme of approximately 150 labels, many available by the glass, and meals that conclude with curated digestifs. Beyond regular service the restaurant stages events such as the Clara & Friends live-cooking series, and offers cookery courses, kitchen parties and dessert buffets at special events.
