Folklore Village

Folklore Village is situated on 94 acres of rolling hills and prairie land in Dodgeville, Wisconsin, offering a rural setting that blends cultural heritage with natural beauty. The venue’s main building, Farwell Hall, evokes the style of a country barn with rustic Scandinavian influences, featuring a vaulted ceiling, hand-forged wrought-iron chandeliers, and a distinctive oak stairway leading to a balcony. A 1,500 square-foot maple dance floor with an inlaid walnut Moravian star forms the centerpiece of the hall.

The property includes several notable structures, such as the historic Plum Grove Chapel built in 1882 and listed on the National Register of Historic Places, as well as two rustic bunkhouses and ample space for tent camping. The grounds also offer expansive outdoor areas suitable for tents or recreational activities, alongside a playground for children.

Designed as a nonprofit cultural and folk arts center, Folklore Village shares its facilities with festivals, dances, and workshops throughout the year, with approximately half the year available for private rentals. The venue supports a variety of celebrations including weddings, corporate events, family reunions, and creative workshops, accommodating up to 300 guests in total.
