The Mazant

The Mazant is a plantation-style home dating back to the early 1880s, situated in the heart of New Orleans' Bywater arts district. This historic Greek-revival mansion occupies an oversized corner lot and features a blend of classic and contemporary styles, with garden party and traditional influences. The property is distinguished by its 13-foot ceilings with plaster medallions, heart pine wood floors, cypress doors, and a 150-year-old oak tree that stands prominently on the grounds.

The venue offers both indoor and outdoor spaces, including a private yard with a fire pit, six-burner propane BBQ, outdoor table, and hammocks, as well as a front porch with historic gas lamps and seating. The house has been renovated to accommodate large groups comfortably, featuring an 18-person dining table, an oversized living room with a 70-inch television, surround sound system, and a Baldwin upright piano. The grounds include a restored Creole cottage and a private formal garden, providing versatile settings for various events.

The Mazant is suitable for a wide range of celebrations such as weddings, corporate events, family reunions, and creative workshops. It can host up to 200 guests depending on the layout, with a seating capacity of 150. The property includes off-street parking for two cars and ample street parking nearby. The venue allows clients to select their own caterers and permits bringing their own alcohol, with music allowed indoors and outdoors until a 9 PM curfew.
