Axiote Cocina de México is a contemporary Mexican restaurant located in Playa del Carmen that blends traditional recipes and everyday flavors with innovative culinary techniques. The menu emphasizes authentic regional ingredients from southeastern Mexico, particularly those inspired by the Mayan gastronomic heritage, including elements from the local rainforest and the crystal-clear sea. Established in September 2014 by Chef Xavier Pérez Stone, the restaurant reflects his training at the Panamerican School of Hospitality and his experience in acclaimed kitchens. Chef Pérez Stone, winner of the Best Cook in Mexico award in 2012 and Iron Chef Canada in 2014, leads the kitchen to offer playful yet sophisticated dishes that balance new textures and flavors with authenticity. Axiote has received recognition for eleven consecutive years in the Mexico Gastronomic Guide as one of the top 120 to 250 restaurants in the country and holds the Bib Gourmand distinction from Michelin for 2024 and 2025.
