Ristorante Da Miro, established in 1954 by Miro Ghilarducci as a small fisherman’s tavern, sits at the heart of Viareggio’s port. Managed today by Miro’s descendants, the family-run restaurant specializes in traditional Viareggio seafood, prioritizing freshly caught local fish sourced directly from regional fishermen. The kitchen honors authentic recipes with subtle modern touches, focusing on simple, genuine flavors that highlight the sea’s natural bounty. The menu features signature dishes such as spaghetti alla Trabaccolara, seafood risotto, and paranza fried mixed seafood. Raw seafood crudités and crustaceans served Catalana style provide vibrant starters, while main courses include fish prepared in the traditional ‘Cacciatora’ style and the local Cacciucco fish stew. A five-course tasting menu, “I Sapori della Darsena,” showcases these specialties in a curated selection.
