The Hoddington Arms is a family‑run country pub in the village of Upton Grey, Hampshire, owned and operated since 2015 by Chris and Fallon Barnes with long‑time kitchen partner Tom Wilson; Chris and Tom trained together at BCOT and have worked together for over twenty years. The kitchen follows a no‑compromise approach to ingredient selection, and the pub has appeared in the Good Food Guide and the Michelin Guide every year since 2015. It provides comfortable ensuite rooms for overnight stays and short‑break packages, runs a programme of community events from quiz nights to seasonal celebrations, and caters for private events and celebrations with a dedicated Barn for exclusive hire or full‑venue hire while working with organisers on pre‑orders and event details. Set in rolling Hampshire countryside, the pub presents cosy interiors and a sheltered garden; the space is homely and convivial, suitable for family meals and gatherings. Cooking is rooted in Traditional British practice with an emphasis on seasonal produce and high‑quality ingredients from trusted suppliers; menus are created to suit a variety of tastes and the team adapts dishes for special dietary requirements. Specialties include generous Sunday lunches of seasonal roasts, a Full English breakfast, seasonal British dishes using local suppliers, fish and chips and a celebration cake service.
