La Botica de Matapozuelos

La Botica de Matapozuelos is a Michelin-starred restaurant situated in the Plaza Mayor of Matapozuelos within a restored farmhouse dating back to 1876. The family renovation completed in 2002 preserved original construction materials such as adobe and pine wood, which are visible in the larger dining room. A smaller private room retains the original pharmacy furniture, nodding to the restaurant’s name and history. The kitchen, led by self-taught Chef Miguel Ángel de la Cruz, focuses on natural, artisanal cuisine that draws on the rural environment and seasonal ingredients from nearby small producers. His dishes incorporate wild herbs, pine nuts, mushrooms, and other local foraged ingredients, echoing the culinary traditions of Castilla y León. Guests can select from two tasting menus, "A walk through the surroundings" and "The peasant kitchen," or enjoy a traditional à la carte menu inspired by the local popular cuisine. The wine cellar, curated by sommelier Alberto de la Cruz, emphasizes wines from the surrounding region, featuring rare local selections alongside national and international labels.
