La Maison Tourangelle

La Maison Tourangelle is a gastronomic restaurant on the left bank of the Cher in Savonnières, housed in a renovated 18th‑century priory. The restaurant has been recognised in guides, including a Michelin selection and references to Gault & Millau, and positions itself as a refined, terroir‑driven destination in the Loire valley. The dining room harmonises traditional materials and contemporary design with a gracious, elegant vibe; a shaded terrace overlooks the Cher and the property includes a wine cellar carved into the rock. The cuisine is modern French rooted in the Touraine terroir, focused on seasonality, freshness and respect for ingredients; it works with local producers and vintners, balancing tradition and creation to produce simple, elegant and inventive plates. Menus such as "La Saison" and "La Vigne" adapt tradition to the present and showcase the best of the market and the region. Frédéric Arnault leads the kitchen; a native of Touraine, his formative stages include notable French houses and time with Alain Ducasse, and he acquired and reopened the restaurant after major renovations in March 2004. Specialities include foie gras, Saint‑Jacques, regional meat preparations, house chocolate desserts and seasonal fruit and pistachio desserts.
