Le Bac à Traille

Le Bac à Traille is a bistronomic restaurant in Valence that opened in June 2020 by the chef and his team. It received a Bib Gourmand in 2021 and shares premises with the Michelin-starred La Cachette. The dining room has wooden tables without tablecloths in a sober, unpretentious style and a relaxed, convivial vibe. In good weather guests can enjoy an interior terrace. The restaurant sits near the Rhône banks and accommodates around thirty covers. The market-led cuisine is fresh and carefully prepared, fusing traditional French bistronomy with Japanese flavors. The kitchen emphasizes balanced flavors, collaborates with local producers and adapts to the seasons. The menu offers generous, shareable plates, à la carte options and adaptations for children, vegetarians and other dietary requirements. Masashi Ijichi (Chef) brings a Franco-Japanese sensibility developed over years in Japan and France. Specialties include market-fresh French dishes with Japanese accents, the use of shiso and nori, and refined sharing plates from Drôme producers. The wine program is curated by sommelier Sébastien Garde, who favors varied references and includes natural wines from France and abroad.
