Le Terroir des Vignobles

Le Terroir des Vignobles sits in the heart of La Rosière ski station in Montvalezan, Savoie. It is run by Judith Fraissard and Alexandre Damiens, who met at Le Chabichou in Courchevel. They opened in December 2022 and reduced covers to prioritise culinary quality. Wine is central: around 200 references and bottles are sold as a caviste. The mountain chalet‑style setting combines a cosy, relaxed wine‑bar area with a sunny terrace overlooking the Savoie mountains, and service remains intimate. The cuisine is modern, refined and seasonally focused, built on local Tarentaise producers and selected French ingredients. Several priced set menus and a weekly midday discovery menu. The restaurant places strong emphasis on wine pairings and the team advises on food‑and‑wine accords. Alexandre Damiens is chef; Judith Fraissard is pastry chef. They bring experience from starred kitchens and sommellerie, hold WSET qualifications, and their backgrounds shape a menu that changes every six weeks. Specialties: veal sweetbread vol‑au‑vent, Arctic char (Omble Chevalier) with buckwheat risotto, foie gras from Domaine de la Limagne, house pâté, lemon vacherin and Savoyard charcuterie board.
