Nage

Nage is a small gastro-bistro in Antwerp founded by Koen and Niki, who realised their shared ambition to run an informal yet refined restaurant. The concept positions Nage as affordable luxury in a casual bistro setting. Koen trained and staged at Het Gebaar, Le Chalet de la Forêt and In De Wulf, developed further experience at De Tuinkamer, Veranda and within the Dôme group—specialising in contemporary French techniques, seafood and charcuterie—and later worked as chef and meat specialist at Butcher’s Store. Niki greets guests and manages the dining room, having worked front-of-house roles at Bún and other Antwerp restaurants. The restaurant is recognised by Michelin as SELECTED. An informal, contemporary bistro/gastro-bistro with an intimate dining room seating approximately 25 guests, creating a focused dining experience; the wine list features mostly organic, biodynamic or natural selections and the room maintains a relaxed focus on them. The kitchen focuses on contemporary French cooking that emphasises qualitative simplicity and products that speak for themselves; dishes are prepared à la minute and the menu can change daily. Guests may choose à la carte options or a carte blanche tasting menu offered in 5- and 6-course formats. Specialties include Zeeuwse platte oysters, Akami tuna tartare with confit egg yolk, sepia from the grill with trompette de la mort, frog legs à la meunière and dry aged Holstein entrecôte.
