Portomarin in Hamburg was founded to introduce Spanish culinary and wine traditions to Germany and has operated for more than 23 years. Hosts Patricia Pérez and Jesús A. Díaz Sindín run the house; Jesús is the wine expert who guides a cellar centred on native varieties such as Albariño, Treixadura, Godello, Verdejo and white Tempranillo. Recognitions include ICEX “Restaurant from Spain” certification, Falstaff and Varta listings, Chaîne des Rôtisseurs, Feinschmecker and MICHELIN SELECTED; Portomarin stages themed wine and winemaker evenings, Eat & Drink Spain and wine‑pairing menus, and sells wines and gourmet products via an on‑site shop. The dining room is warm and intimate, likened to the hosts' living room, with a cozy, charming ambience, attentive service and outdoor seating. The kitchen serves fine Spanish cooking that emphasises artisanal ingredients, seasonality and regional products from across Spain, offering degustation menus and seafood and meats with wine pairings. Specialties include Jamón de Bellota and Galician beef; paella is offered as a special and for take‑away at times; a seasonal Crispy Malvasía duck leg from Soria complements the house’s selection of Spanish wines and native varieties.
