Renoir

Renoir is a small, family-run restaurant in Auerbach that has been part of west Saxon gastronomy for over three decades. Founded by Elke and Eberhard Baldauf, the house presents a team that pairs classic techniques with contemporary touches. The venue programmes cooking courses, themed event menus and wine evenings, and can be booked exclusively for private or corporate celebrations. The restaurant is intimate and pleasant, with a main dining room, a bay window (Erker) offering extensive views to the Thuringian landscape, and a cosy private dining separée. Seating is arranged for a calm, refined dining experience. The kitchen serves creative, classical and fresh cuisine rooted in classical French and international traditions, following a market-driven, seasonal menu philosophy and emphasising fresh, seasonal produce. André Baldauf (Owner & Sommelier) took over as owner and host in 2010 and continues the family tradition; under his leadership the house has been recommended by the Guide MICHELIN and recognised in Varta and Falstaff. He brings a strong sommelier and front-of-house background from high-profile posts, personally advises guests on wine pairings from the cellar and oversees a well-stocked European wine selection.
