Yirmi

Yirmi is a small family-run gastronomic restaurant in Malonne, five minutes from Namur, that celebrates local terroir through creative French cuisine with worldly inspirations. The kitchen works with seasonal products, prepares much in-house and sources numerous ingredients from nearby producers listed on the site; service follows a single changing menu that deconstructs ingredients to deliver varied textures and full use of each product while aiming to be sincere, generous and refined. The dining room seats around twenty and is described as a cocoon in the heart of Malonne. Family-oriented and warm, the space emphasises conviviality and features nature-inspired décor, notably a logo and a capucine motif, with storytelling and close attention to guests given equal weight with gastronomy. Contemporary French cooking with global influences is presented as concise tasting sequences built on seasonal, locally sourced produce and handmade preparations. Menus include multiple amuse-bouches and bespoke touches such as house-made vinegars (wild garlic, spruce) and cocktails by a guest mixologist. Chef Jeremy Vandernoot trained at École d’Hôtellerie de Namur and Vieusart Academy, worked in Air du Temps, Seagrill, Château de Mylord, Bon‑Bon and Agathopède, and competed on Top Chef season 9. Specialties include Brioche au poulet rôti; Ceviche de Saint-Jacques; Dos de cabillaud confit; Filet de biche rôti; an amuse-bouche selection (huître, moule, truite).
