Flurin

Flurin is located within the Flurin Tower, a historic landmark in Glorenza, Italy, boasting over 800 years of history. The tower once served various roles including a law court, a 14th-century bank managed by the local Jewish community, and a prison until 1931. Named after the 14th-century judge Flurin von Turm, the building also hosted Emperor Maximilian I during his travels. After being abandoned in the mid-20th century, the tower was revived by Fred Ortler and his son Thomas, who completed a full renovation to restore the site’s heritage and open it to the public once again. The medieval Romanesque architecture offers a distinctive atmosphere, preserving the original walls and evoking centuries of history in the small town of Glorenza. This setting combines the weight of tradition with the energy of a dedicated, youthful team devoted to revitalizing the tower. Under the direction of Chef Thomas Ortler, the cuisine emphasizes fresh, seasonal market ingredients prepared with contemporary techniques.
