Kaupers Restaurant im Kapellenhof is a small Michelin-starred restaurant about 15 km southwest of Mainz, housed in a 300-year-old former fruit storage (Fruchtspeicher). The house philosophy, "culinary luminosity", defines dishes that prioritise lightness, clarity of flavour and digestibility through reduction and concentration on the essential, expressed in market- and season-driven menus that sometimes use produce from the restaurant’s vegetable garden. Hosts Nora (front of house and guest experience) and Sebastian (kitchen) run the venue and have held a Michelin star since one and a half years after opening, for 15 years. Bespoke event concepts tailor the offering to make the experience intimate, theatrical and highly personalised. The space is intimate and seasonally decorated with ever-changing, playful styling by Nora; guests can also enjoy a sunlit rooftop terrace and varied seasonal looks throughout the year. The kitchen presents modern, creative Michelin cuisine via structured tasting menus (prix fixe) and alternative beverage pairings, including creative non-alcoholic options; the wine list highlights German wines alongside French and Italian selections and a curated cohort of 'naturnah' winemakers from Germany, Austria, Hungary and France. Specialties include a table-wise 4‑course surprise menu, a 5‑course surprise menu, a Käsebrett (cheese board), housemade non‑alcoholic pairings (kombucha and herbal essences) and Nora’s Gin & Tonic creations.
