Mezcaleria Alma

Mezcaleria Alma brings the vibrant spirit of Mexico City to Denver’s LoHi neighborhood with CDMX-inspired small plates and an expansive Mexican spirits program; the restaurant emphasizes an adventurous approach to flavors and drinks and has been selected by the Michelin Guide. Chef Johnny Curiel opened Mezcaleria Alma as a next chapter alongside his first solo restaurant, Alma Fonda Fina, and draws on experiences in Mexico City where tradition and constant innovation intersect; Alma Fonda Fina reflects home-cooked traditions and fonda-style comfort food while Mezcaleria Alma intentionally embodies the unbridled innovation and cultural energy of CDMX. The venue occupies an intimate, compact dining room with a small bar area; walk-in availability is limited to two bar seats on a first-come, first-served basis, and seating is designed for focused small-plate dining and spirited beverage service. Contemporary Mexican cuisine presents seafood-forward, innovative small plates with a menu philosophy centered on dishes meant to be shared and matched with Mexican spirits. Johnny Curiel leads the kitchen. Specialties include CDMX-inspired small plates; seafood-focused small plates; and an extensive Mexican agave and mezcal selection numbering more than 120 expressions.
