Nodo Hotel

Opened in 2020 by the Facchini family, Nodo Hotel is the first design hotel in the Codroipo area of Friuli Venezia Giulia, Italy. Its name — meaning "knot" or "joint" in Italian — evokes both the natural cedar wood that defines the structure and the town's historic role as a crossroads between two Roman imperial roads (Codroipo derives from the Latin "quadrivium"). Entirely built in cedar wood to harmonize with the centuries-old trees of its surrounding garden, the hotel holds the region's only CasaClima energy-efficiency certification, reflecting a deep commitment to sustainable design. Every space in the hotel dialogues with the outdoors through large terraces and oversized windows overlooking the garden, creating a seamless flow between interior and exterior. The décor was conceived in collaboration with painter and sculptor Giorgio Celiberti, a celebrated master of the North-East art scene who personally selected the artworks adorning the restaurant, the lounge with veranda, and the common areas. Guest rooms are fully soundproofed, equipped with home automation technology, wooden furnishings, air conditioning, a desk, coffee machine, minibar, safety deposit box, flat-screen TV, and a private bathroom with bidet. Each room features a private terrace and an Acqua di Parma courtesy set; suites add a freestanding bathtub. Some rooms offer mountain views, while all provide balconies with city or garden outlooks. Bed linen and towels are provided throughout. The fine dining restaurant Al Bassotto has quickly become a regional reference point, guided by the experienced maître d' Nevio Cibinel and the creative young chef Bajram Ostreci. The kitchen champions seasonal raw materials and collaborations with local producers, interpreting Italian flavors in a contemporary key — think smoked scallops on macadamia sauce with black cabbage, scampi in XO sauce, beetroot gazpacho with lard mayonnaise, and marinated cod in polenta crust. The wine list balances small Collio wineries with the finest Italian and international labels. Dairy-free, kosher, and vegan options are available on request. Guests also enjoy a buffet or Italian breakfast each morning, and a bar is on site for cocktails or coffee overlooking the garden. The Urban SPA — open to both hotel guests and external visitors — provides a Finnish sauna, Turkish bath, cryotherapy chamber, aromatherapy shower, relaxation lounge, and herbal tea area. Its crown jewel is the Jacuzzi Terrace with solarium, described as the only one of its kind in the region, which can be privatized for two with an aperitif of Ribolla Gialla sparkling wine. A beauty center staffed by experts offers personalized body treatments and wellness services. The hotel also features a fitness centre for active guests.
