Sapori

Sapori is a family-run Italian restaurant in Anstey, opened in May 2011 by head chef Andrea Scarpati and his wife Cristina, offering modern, elegant Italian fine dining rooted in tradition and refined through passion. The kitchen emphasises authentic, innovative dishes prepared using the freshest seasonal ingredients, with everything made from scratch on site. The restaurant has been featured in the Good Food Guide since 2014 and holds awards including Best Italian Restaurant in the UK, an AA Rosette awarded in October 2018, a Michelin Plate in 2019 and a second AA Rosette in June 2021; the team provides a curated wine list and private-hire bespoke menus for events. The venue is warm and elegant, comprising an elegant restaurant area and a more vibrant pizza bar that together offer a mix of refined dining and a casual pizza-bar atmosphere. Cuisine focuses on traditional techniques and presents tasting menus, including a vegetarian tasting option, alongside à la carte dishes. Head chef Andrea Scarpati, a native of Torre del Greco, worked in restaurants in Italy and England before opening Sapori and was the only UK-based member of CHIC in 2017 and the UK ambassador nominated by Ambasciatori del Gusto in 2019. Specialties include handmade pasta, house-baked breads and house-made gelato and desserts.
