Gardenia is set within a charming 19th-century house in Caluso, part of Italy’s Canavese region. Since its founding in 1977, it has upheld a family tradition of evolving cuisine that honors local producers and seasonal ingredients. The restaurant occupies cozy, elegantly furnished rooms and a verdant garden featuring a greenhouse that serves as a unique dining and sustainable innovation space. Chef Mariangela Susigan leads the kitchen with a philosophy centered on spontaneity and the current season, drawing on both traditional Piedmontese techniques and contemporary culinary approaches. Dishes highlight wild herbs, edible flowers, and the vegetables of the surrounding land, reflecting a rediscovery of the area’s ancestral biodiversity. The wine cellar, curated by sommeliers Elisabetta and Gabriele, offers selections from small and major producers alongside cru wines from Gardenia’s own Cantine Crosio vineyard.
