Suqsu

Suqsu is doing something genuinely different in Milan. The concept sits at the crossroads of food, design, and craft — think gourmet couscous served alongside artisanal products, with the work of selected designers woven into the space itself. It's Mediterranean cuisine, but with a distinct personality. The menu leans into couscous as a serious centerpiece rather than an afterthought. Standout dishes include paprika couscous with stuffed squid, potato, pepper, and carrot, finished with preserved lemon, black olives, pistachio, chives, and sprouts. There's also a version with octopus, pumpkin, and red cabbage, and another built around sea bream fillet with leek, almonds, and curly parsley. Each bowl is layered and considered. The atmosphere runs on the romantic side — intimate enough for a proper date, but the design-forward setting gives it a cultural edge that makes it work beyond just the occasion.
