University of Wollongong in Dubai

The University of Wollongong in Dubai (UOWD), established in 1993, is the first international Australian university in the UAE and an independent branch of the University of Wollongong in Australia. Situated in Dubai Knowledge Park, the campus spans 200,000 square feet and offers a modern, minimalist environment designed to support both academic excellence and professional events. Its diverse community of over 3,500 students from more than 108 countries brings a dynamic and inclusive atmosphere to every occasion held on site.

UOWD provides in-house catering services to support events hosted across its facilities, ensuring attendees are looked after throughout their experience.

The venue offers a varied portfolio of event spaces suited to different formats and group sizes. The Outdoor Events Area is a 500 m² terrace accommodating up to 200 in boardroom layout or 300 for cocktail receptions. The Function Room, a 315 m² conference hall, handles up to 150 guests in boardroom or island configurations and up to 200 for cocktail events. The Immersive Gallery and Data Visualisation Centre are each 300 m² special venues, both accommodating up to 100 in boardroom style and 200 for cocktails, offering distinctive settings for exhibitions and showcases. The Planetarium spans 200 m² and seats up to 120. The Lecture Theatre accommodates 144 in a boardroom layout or 70 in theatre-style seating. For smaller gatherings, the Boardroom covers 60 m² with a capacity of 22, while Meeting Room A or B offers 24 m² for up to 10 attendees.

On the production and technical side, UOWD is equipped with high-speed internet access, professional sound systems, and a range of microphones including wireless, handheld, and lapel options. Visual capabilities include LED displays and video walls, while stage lighting features spotlights, floodlights, and gobo projectors. Modular stage platforms and podiums with lecterns support presentations and performances alike. On-site technicians are available for both audiovisual and lighting requirements. Seating and furniture options range from folding, banquet, and theatre-style chairs to round, rectangular, and cocktail tables, as well as lounge furniture including sofas, ottomans, and coffee tables. A security team and medical support are on hand to ensure the safety of all attendees.
