La Gloire

La Gloire, family-run in Montargis, traces its history to 1972 when the Jolly family acquired the Hôtel Restaurant de la Gloire. The house built a local reputation across generations; Jean Claude Martin apprenticed there before training in Paris at Le Doyen, La Marée and the Café de la Paix, and in 2018 his daughters and son-in-law took over. La Gloire is a Michelin Guide selection. The dining room is elegant, bright, flowered and air-conditioned, and the team provides attentive service focused on guest comfort and a warm, familial welcome in a house created to feel convivial. A curated selection of regional wines and grands crus accompanies the dining room, with wines available by the glass. The kitchen delivers classic French gastronomy described on the website as subtle, generous and innovative while respecting tradition, offering both classic plated dishes and composed menus as well as à la carte choices and set menus. Jerome Gaultier leads the kitchen. Specialties include whole blue lobster shelled and sliced with seasonal garnish and lobster vinaigrette; roasted sweetbreads with beurre; pomme Charlotte mousseline with white truffle oil and Périgourdine sauce; and nougat glacé with red fruit coulis.
