Le Grand Café Victoria

Le Grand Café Victoria is a trattoria and seafood restaurant located seaside in Arcachon, overlooking the Arcachon Bay. It offers a dual concept that combines traditional Italian cuisine with fresh products sourced mainly from Italy, as well as a seafood menu featuring oysters, shellfish, crustaceans, fish, and platters from the Arcachon Bay and the adjacent ocean. The restaurant occupies a historic building that was once part of the Hôtel-Restaurant Le Victoria, famous for its Mansard slate roof and its preserved original structure dating back to before 1896. This venue has welcomed both international guests and local residents since its reopening in 2015, under the management of Frédéric Phélippon. The dining experience takes place in a bright room and on a spacious seaside terrace with panoramic views of the bay. Antique chandeliers, solid wood furniture, and white tablecloths create a refined yet warm atmosphere, complemented by elegant and friendly service infused with Italian cheerfulness. The kitchen, led by Chef Salvatore d'Alessandro and seasonally supported by a transalpine brigade, showcases fresh seasonal products and daily specialties written on a blackboard, highlighting the chef's creativity. The menu features flagship dishes such as seafood platters, oysters, shellfish, crustaceans, antipasti, Italian cold cuts, osso buco prepared according to the authentic Milanese recipe, and homemade pizzas with dough kneaded fresh every day. The wine list includes a rich selection of Italian labels as well as regional French wines, perfectly complementing the blend of Italian tradition and the freshness of local seafood.
