Au Coin des Pucelles

Au Coin des Pucelles is a historic Strasbourg institution dating back to 1947. The house evolved from a traditional winstub into a modern bistro, was refreshed while preserving its authenticity and family story, and after passing through several local owners was recently relaunched by members of the Molteni family. Front‑of‑house is led by chef de restaurant Pierre Ohmann, who provides attentive service and a strong personality at the welcome. The team has built a refined, audacious and eclectic wine list to complement the cuisine, and the restaurant is selected by the Michelin Guide for its authentic Alsatian and traditional French cooking. The interior is authentic, warm and convivial, presented as an Alsatian bistrot with a welcoming atmosphere. Dining rooms are fully air‑conditioned. The decor adds refreshed colour and conviviality. The kitchen champions traditional Alsatian and French bistro dishes that lean on local, seasonal produce and the richness of the regional terroir. Dishes are generous and grounded in short supply chains, with attention to garden vegetables and wild herbs from the Ried. Alexis Albrecht is a Michelin‑starred chef of Le Vieux Couvent in Rhinau. Specialties include twelve snails from the Mille‑et‑une coquilles farm (Ettendorf) with house butter; a Croque with cured ham and Alsace tomme; Bouchée à la reine with morels and green spatzle; char (omble de fontaine) from Heimbach with curried leeks and lime butter; house sausage (poultry, pork & beef) with orzo and truffled green cabbage; and a 100% vegetarian vegetable pot‑au‑feu with herb broth and gribiche.
