Kalmoesfontein

Kalmoesfontein is a distinctive venue nestled within a working wine farm in the Western Cape of South Africa. The site features a blend of rustic and contemporary styles with bohemian and eclectic touches, set against a backdrop of vineyards, meadows, and lakes. The venue’s origins date back to the turn of the 19th century, with the original farm house and cellar buildings having been restored after decades of disuse.

The venue offers a creative and informal atmosphere where guests can enjoy the natural surroundings, including views of the oldest Cinsault bush vines in the country, wheat fields, dams, and distant mountain ranges. The presence of farm animals and the absence of nearby neighbors provide a relaxed environment where music can be played indoors and outdoors without disturbance.

Kalmoesfontein’s main event space, The Old House, includes a fully equipped kitchen, a covered back porch with ambient lighting, and an outdoor dancefloor under the stars. The front porch overlooks terraced grasslands extending into the Swartland region. The venue supports a variety of celebrations such as weddings, anniversaries, and social events, with a maximum seated capacity of 140 guests.
