LOKYS is a distinguished restaurant located in Vilnius Old Town, operating since 1972 within a historic 15th-century merchant's house. It serves as a home to forest delicacies and the rich stories of Lithuanian cuisine, run by the second generation of the founding family. The restaurant’s concept revolves around Lithuanian culinary heritage, showcasing noble tables once abundant with forest products such as game, berries, mushrooms, and nuts. The kitchen skillfully blends medieval culinary traditions with modern techniques and presentation. The menu, developed collaboratively by the chef and Lithuanian historians, connects each dish to specific historical periods and elements of Lithuania’s gastronomic past. LOKYS offers curated tasting experiences and themed events, including Lithuanian food tastings and the Vilnius Royal Hunt Dinner, where guests engage with 16th-century hunting and noble feast traditions through storytelling, paired drinks, and multi-course menus. The restaurant’s interior features Gothic and Baroque elements, including preserved Gothic cellars and a Baroque hall adorned with an authentic 18th-century fresco. During warmer months, an outdoor terrace in the inner Old Town courtyard provides additional seating alongside a small children’s playground.
