Simpsons is a long-established fine-dining restaurant in a Grade II-listed Georgian villa in Birmingham. It has held a Michelin star since 1999 and accumulated accolades over three decades, becoming a destination for discerning diners. Founded in 1993 in Kenilworth, it moved to Edgbaston in 2004 and underwent a sensitive, major refurbishment in 2015. The site houses the Eureka Kitchen cookery school, refurbished in 2017; the restaurant has collaborated with many leading British chefs and offers classic set menus and longer tasting experiences, including dedicated plant-based tasting menus with wine-flight pairings; PETA lists it among the top ten restaurants for plant-based dining. Bright, modern décor respects the building’s elegance and heritage, and attentive, friendly service creates a relaxed dining experience. The kitchen offers a contemporary take on British cooking that respects classical tradition, combining global influences and building dishes around impeccably sourced seasonal ingredients. Chef-patron Andreas Antona leads it; his honours include Chefs’ Chef of the Year, an honorary doctorate from University College Birmingham and International Chef of the Year (2014).
