Vatavaran

Vatavaran is chef Rohit Ghai's take on the Indian subcontinent — not a greatest-hits tour, but something more considered. The menu moves through diverse textures and bold flavours, drawing on traditional and classical cooking techniques while feeling distinctly contemporary. Expect palate-teasing starters and flame-charred mains that pull from the full breadth of regional Indian cooking. Signature dishes worth knowing: the butter chicken, lamb biryani, and prawn ghati masala. These are the plates people come back for, and they hold up to the hype. The room itself does a lot of work. Deep blue walls, colourful artwork, plush dark leather banquettes, refined table settings, and soft candle lighting make it feel cosy without being dim or stuffy. It works as well for a relaxed family dinner as it does for something more intimate. The space is kept to a notably high standard throughout.
