RIZOM

RIZOM is a relaxed fine dining restaurant and cafeteria located within the Grand-Hornu Museum of Contemporary Arts and the Centre for Innovation and Design. It offers a cuisine that blends local Belgian produce with diverse cultural inspirations. The restaurant is part of the cultural site of Grand-Hornu, a UNESCO World Heritage site where design, architecture, applied arts, and creativity converge. RIZOM extends the visitor experience, combining food, contemporary culture, and heritage in a living space before or after exploring the CID and the MACS. The chef-owner Olivier De Vriendt leads the kitchen with a focus on harmony and creative combinations of dishes with wines, beers, and kefirs. The menu is structured to offer flexibility, with three-course options available in vegetarian, pescatarian, and carnivore versions. The restaurant emphasizes homemade elements such as fermentations, bread, and plant shoots grown on-site, as well as a cart featuring Belgian cheeses.
