What is a Pub Quiz?

A Pub Quiz is a team-based trivia game built around short, punchy rounds where groups collaborate to answer questions across a mix of categories (general knowledge, pop culture, geography, sports, business, company culture, etc.). It’s “mainstream” for a reason: the rules are instantly understandable, the energy rises quickly, and teams naturally start debating, negotiating, and laughing within minutes.

In a corporate context, Pub Quiz works especially well because it creates a low-pressure environment where people contribute in different ways. Someone might be brilliant at music intros, another at geography, another at logic puzzles. That variety makes the experience inclusive and surprisingly revealing: teams quickly see where collective intelligence beats individual knowledge.

Step 5 — Celebrate the winners. End with a short “awards moment.” You can add fun categories like “Best Team Name,” “Most Confident Wrong Answer,” or “Best Comeback.” That keeps it playful and memorable.

Why it’s great for a team
