Amber Rose Restaurant & Catering specialises in homemade Eastern European cuisine, drawing from German, Lithuanian, Polish, Hungarian, Russian, and Italian culinary traditions. The menu highlights classic comfort dishes and European specialities, including Lithuanian cabbage rolls, Hunter schnitzel, Elinor’s signature turtle soup, pierogies, and homestyle pot roast. The kitchen emphasises quality, fresh ingredients and house-made soups and sauces throughout its offerings.
The beverage programme features an exemplary selection of hard-to-find European beers and wines, complementing the food and enhancing the dining experience. The bar, crafted from imported Turkish marble, serves as a convivial space for enjoying appetisers and drinks with friends.
Located at 1400 Valley Street in Old North Dayton, the restaurant occupies a historic building originally constructed in 1910 by Sigmund Ksiezopolski. The site has a rich local history, including serving as a general store and deli called Sig’s until the 1980s, and hosting the National Guard during the Great Flood of 1913. Founded by Elinor Sluzas in 1990, Amber Rose maintains her original recipes and welcoming spirit.
Guests dine in a European café-inspired room or reserve one of two private banquet spaces for events. The restaurant also offers custom catering and banquet services both on-site and at requested locations, inviting patrons to “come as a stranger, leave as a friend.”
