The partner's word

33 The Homend is an independently owned restaurant whose kitchen is run solely by James, who makes every dish and bakes an in-house natural-leaven bread in a Rofco oven. Much of the vegetables and fruit used on the menu are grown in the restaurant's own meadow at home. Key suppliers named include Flying Fish in Cornwall for day-boat fish and shellfish, Huntsham Farm for Middle White pork and Walter Rose for roe deer, duck and winter game. The restaurant is Michelin-selected and cites its house-baked bread, hyper-local produce and provenance-led suppliers as defining characteristics. Housed in an 18th-century Grade II listed building in the heart of Ledbury, the venue is family-run and intentionally intimate. Two small dining rooms accommodate 14 covers in total. Reservations are managed personally by the team. Cuisine is Contemporary Modern British presented on a small, seasonal menu. The wine list is kept deliberately small and aligned to the seasons. Specialties and signature dishes include Crispy Middle White pork belly, roasted monkfish tail with spinach and ricotta tortellini, pan-fried fillet of hake with a Salcombe crab croquette and an aged fillet of Hereford beef.
