The partner's word

The Kitchin is a Michelin-starred contemporary Scottish restaurant on Edinburgh’s Leith waterfront which operates a 'From Nature to Plate' philosophy. Opened in 2006, it earned its first Michelin Star in 2007, holds five AA Rosettes since 2015 and has received numerous national and international awards. The business is supported by a long-standing management and kitchen team that combines hospitality, theatre of cooking and a commitment to local sourcing and community engagement. Set in a converted whisky bonded warehouse, the dining room retains original stone and wood features and offers an intimate, cosy and relaxed setting. Guests can view the kitchen through a glass window, and the restaurant occupies a single level with wheelchair access. The kitchen serves modern British cuisine influenced by French cooking techniques, with produce arriving fresh daily from a close team of selected suppliers. Tom Kitchin is Chef‑Proprietor and, with Michaela Kitchin, runs the family business; he trained during formative stages of his career with Pierre Koffmann, Guy Savoy and Alain Ducasse. Signature offerings include the Chef’s Tasting Menu and the Prestige Tasting Menu, bespoke seasonal menus for private dining and events, a focus on seasonal Scottish produce, in‑house butchery and filleting of whole meat and fish each day, and an extensive whisky selection.
