Gusto Caffe

Le Gusto Caffé is an Italian restaurant established in 2009 presenting a dedicated Italian concept. Many drinks are imported directly from Italy and the kitchen emphasizes fresh products — fish, crustaceans and meats — while the venue offers Italian take-away specialties with a stated 10% discount. The chef trained from a young age (BTS hôtelier), spent two years touring the world in starred kitchens learning Asian techniques and worked with Jacques Chibois and Guillaume Sourrieux. He opened Le Garage in 2007 and the Italian Gusto in 2009, was a finalist on Top Chef in 2013 and created the nearby bakery-pâtisserie Gaspard. The venue runs monthly themed cooking classes taught by the chef that include a hands-on morning workshop, a shared tasting and an offered wine pairing, and it stages occasional themed events such as lobster week. Located on the port of Ferrière in Martigues, the restaurant offers indoor and outdoor seating, a convivial family-and-friends atmosphere and several spaces that can be privatized for events. Cooking focuses on Italian classics with homemade pasta, insists on fresh, seasonal ingredients and sees the chef update the carte regularly, with themed dishes on offer. Fabien Morreale (Chef).
