Hiden is an intimate omakase restaurant in Miami. The restaurant is part of Shōwa Hospitality and a collaboration between San Diego restaurateurs Aram Baloyan and Julian Hakim. Hiden holds a Michelin Guide (Selected) distinction. The space is secretive and speakeasy-style, presented with a 'secret door' concept evocative of small omakase bars in Japan. A single intimate counter seats eight guests for a direct chef-led experience. The vibe is private and minimalist, emphasizing focus on the food and the service. Hiden presents authentic Japanese fine-dining omakase with a seasonal tasting menu that centers on fresh ingredients treated with classic techniques and a deep respect for natural flavors. The kitchen pairs the best domestic produce with specific ingredients flown from Japan, and the menu is updated regularly to reflect seasonal availability. Chef Seijun Okano, born in Hiroshima and training from age 14, spent 15 years working in Tokyo, worked in Hawaii, and then nine years at two leading sushi restaurants in Napa Valley before arriving in Miami to lead Hiden. Specialties are an eight-to-ten course omakase tasting menu, a focused sushi selection, seasonal cold and hot dishes, and dessert.
