Kasbür

Kasbür is a family-run gastronomic restaurant in Monswiller led by Yves and Béatrice Kieffer; it earned a Michelin star in 2013. The house traces its roots to a 1932 country bistro run by Kieffer ancestors and was completely renovated in 1999 into the present gastronomic table. Yves Kieffer trained at La Tour d'Argent and with Marc Meneau, bringing technical mastery, creativity and respect for product. Kasbür received the Gault & Millau Trophée technique d’Excellence in 2022 and highlights attention to detail and elegant plating. The restaurant pairs its cuisine with a well‑curated wine cellar and sommelier Christophe Ziegler, and offers rotating lunch formulas alongside special menus for New Year, Christmas and Valentine’s Day. The dining room is warm and comfortable, marrying classic and contemporary design with clean‑lined lighting, floral tapestries and large bay windows that open onto a south‑facing terrace, garden and views of the Blue Line of the Vosges. The kitchen serves modern cuisine focused on seasonal products, technical precision and creative presentation. It respects the original taste of ingredients and, whenever possible, works with local producers, breeders and winemakers to showcase terroir‑driven flavours. Yves Kieffer is the chef. Specialties include foie gras de canard poêlé, queue de homard, bar de ligne au caviar, caille des Vosges and gravelax de maquereau.
